FAQS

  • How much does the hall cost and is there a minimal hire period?
    • Hall costs and minimum hire periods depend on the time of day and the day of the week. Please go through to the booking page to find out more.
    • Villagers are eligible for a discounted rate.. Please visit the village Pop-up Post Office on a Tuesday or Thursday morning to get yourself registered.
    • There is also a charge for damage, extra cleaning and over-runs. This is variable. Again, there is more on the booking page.
    • Please note that, to allow for use of the hall by others, back to back bookings and the schedule of caretakers, set-up and clear up time must be allowed for within your booking period.
  • Is there anything you won't let the hall for?
    • Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate any teenage parties, nor 20th's or 21st's. It went badly wrong for us once and nobody is willing to risk reliving the experience. Including the police.
  • Does the kitchen have...?
    • The kitchen has a hob, oven and large fridge, It has a double sink, tea and coffee making facilities but no cutlery nor crockery.
    • There is no bar, but the kitchen does have a large serving hatch into the hall.
  • Does the hall have tables and chairs?
    • Yes, there are good number of trestle tables and lots of chairs, you can seat about 70 for dinner!
  • Can I have alcohol?
    • You can serve alcohol but you cannot sell it with out a licence. This is the law. If you need to you can try negotiating with one of the village pubs to provide a drinks service.
  • Tell me about music.
    • We do not have any sort of PA, audio, nor portable music system.
    • However, we do pay the PRS fees necessary to enable you to legally play music.
    • The hall is in the middle of a tiny village and our usage licences dictate that all music must be stopped by 11:30pm.
  • Do I have to tidy-up
    • Absolutely, yes. You need to leave the hall as you found it please. A cleaning charge will be levied if not.
    • Also, set-up, knock down and tidying time must be concluded within your hire period. Including that of any DJs, hire equipment, etc.
  • Can I use the outdoor space?
    • The playing field and the grass outside belongs to the council and, as such, is not part of the let.
    • However, the hard standing before the field is part of the hall and can be used.
